Istidama’s WaterSec’s Project provides a transformative solution for water-intensive industries. Traditional analogical water meters offered limited data on water consumption, hindering efficient water management and conservation efforts. In response to this challenge, WaterSec developed WSSM, an IoT sensor system utilizing image processing and artificial intelligence to provide real-time, machine-level water consumption data. This innovation allows industries to identify inefficiencies, predict maintenance needs, optimize water usage, and prevent wastage, significantly contributing to water conservation practices. Connected to an intuitive dashboard, WSSM empowers users with customizable reports, anomaly alerts, and threshold-defined consumption notifications. By facilitating data-driven decision-making, the system helps industries achieve a water-secure world. The scale of the problem addressed by WSSM is substantial, considering the significant water consumption of water-intensive industries globally. Lack of access to granular data previously hindered the adoption of targeted water-saving practices. The absence of similar IoT-based solutions before WSSM’s development can be attributed to technological limitations and limited awareness of image processing and AI’s potential in water metering. By revolutionizing water consumption monitoring, WSSM contributes significantly to building a sustainable future, optimizing resource utilization, and combating water scarcity and environmental challenges.
