Ruden AS - Norway
Ruden’s groundbreaking innovation is driven by a core mission: to provide clean drinking water to those facing dire shortages. The innovation tackles a pressing problem exacerbated by climate change; water scarcity. Climate-induced droughts have left countless communities without reliable access to fresh water, triggering a cascade of interconnected issues, including food insecurity, health crises, and economic downturns. Traditional hydrogeological methods could only explore depths of around 300 meters, leaving deep freshwater resources untapped. Ruden’s motivation aimed to address water scarcity by accessing water reserves at depths exceeding 1000 meters, which do not depend on current rainfall, and hence remain unaffected by drought conditions. What sets Ruden apart is its unique approach, combining hydrogeological data, climate data and oil and gas data with proprietary techniques to identify freshwater indications in geological logs. This innovation expands our capacity to explore and harness deep freshwater resources, revolutionizing water resource exploration. Ruden’s innovation broke new ground, recognizing the severity of the water scarcity crisis and the need to explore deeper. By overcoming these limitations, Ruden’s innovation offers a scalable solution to secure water resources for vulnerable communities globally.
